In the Philippines, there's a dish called ampalaya that consists of ampalaya, carrots, and egg. Ampalaya (bitter melon) is bitter and camote (sweet potato) is sweet so I decided to combine these together and it was a success.

I tried making bread using a frying pan in the past to see if it could be done and thereby saving energy as opposed to heating an entire oven. I am also rediscovering molasses, a terrific source for sweetness that is packed with minerals, including lithium, the lack of which may actually impart on the prevalence of of bi-polar depression exhibited today.

I just find this combination terrific. The split peas provides a dense and hearty sensation and the squash, a sweetness that is further complimented by the crushed black and red pepper. Added tomatoes for extra color. Try it, you will not feel left out by there not being meat in it - it is actually filling. This is easy to prepare.
